tcc vocational programs

program purpose: to prepare students to enter employment in the hvac-r field or, for those already in the hvac-r field, to continue their education. students will complete the requirements to receive an osha 1926 – 10-hour safety card in the first course of the program. the program is also aligned with industry-recognized certifications provided by nccer. must be at least 17 years of age and must turn 18 years of age before the end of the first semester in the program. program purpose: to prepare students to enter employment in the welding industry or continue their education.

by successfully completing the program, students are eligible to receive industry-recognized certificates, sit for american welding society (aws) exams and receive an osha 1926 safety card. applications for the spring 2019 semester in the welding technology program are now being accepted. tcc was recently awarded a grant through triumph gulf coast, inc. to assist residents in wakulla and franklin counties to receive “fast-track” masonry training in as little as 13 weeks. the masonry/construction industry is projected to need 14,620 cement/masonry workers through 2027, with a projected wage of  $18.51-$21.03. the classes will be held at the wakulla environment institute in the evenings. these certifications are portable and accepted anywhere in the united states.
