regardless of your vaccination status, get a covid-19 test within 72 hours of arriving to your residence hall, greek housing or other place of residence. if you test positive, contact eh&s at covidehc@uw.edu / 206-616-3344, stay in your place of residence and follow the isolation instructions provided by eh&s. if you test positive for covid-19 or become ill within 10 days of your planned return to campus, whether or not you have covid-19 symptoms, you must self-isolate in place before traveling or coming to the uw.

if you are not fully vaccinated and come into close contact with someone who has tested positive for covid-19 within two weeks of your planned return to campus, quarantine at home and get tested before coming to the uw. (follow the “i may have been exposed to covid-19. regardless of your vaccination status, be sure to follow all cdc travel guidelines for international and domestic travel. students needing accommodations and/or auxiliary aids due to a disability or temporary health condition should contact disability resources for students at the bothell, seattle, or tacoma campus.

after a semester of online learning and a summer of physical distancing, most college students are ready, willing and possibly able to return for the fall semester. parents and students will need a coronavirus safety checklist for the fall semester. you’ll want to be careful where you place your phone and backpack.

if you are in the high-risk category for coronavirus due to underlying medical conditions, you’ll want to make sure your lungs are getting enough oxygen. sending a student to college used to be a family affair with parents and siblings packed in the car to help with the move. if a classmate or professor tests positive for coronavirus, college students will need to be familiar with their campus and neighborhood health care resources. if a medical evacuation is needed, global rescue can provide services to transport members to their home hospital of choice.
